Hesperos Inc.
Dr. Shuler, an Eckert Professor of Engineering (Emeritus) at Cornell University and President of Hesperos, has pioneered modern biochemical engineering for 48 years. Notably, he's advanced bioprocesses for drug and chemical production using living cells, including a commercial process for the anti-cancer drug Taxol. His foundational work on cell models influenced metabolic engineering and systems biology. Over three decades, he's developed multi-organ systems to predict bodily responses to agents. He invented the "Body-on-a-Chip," enhancing it for Hesperos’ services, and holds positions on influential advisory boards and boards of directors. Dr. Shuler holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota (1973), an honorary PhD from the University of Notre Dame (2009), and is a prolific author with over 345 peer-reviewed journal articles.
