Michael Hausser is a professor of neuroscfience at University College London (UCL). He focuses on deciphering the cellular underpinnings of neural computation within the mammalian brain. By delving into the integrative aspects of neuronal dendrites, alongside anatomical and functional connectivity of neural networks, he aims to unravel the intricacies of information coding and processing within the intact brain. His research centers on the cerebellum and neocortex, utilizing advanced in vitro and in vivo imaging, electrophysiology techniques, including two-photon imaging and patch-clamp recordings. He also harnesses computational models of individual neurons and neural networks to complement our experimental endeavors, all with the ultimate goal of connecting various tiers of brain function to illuminate how single neurons and circuits encode behaviors and undergo changes during learning.
