Pr. Eric Renard is a world-renowned endocrinologist and the Head of the Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition at Lapeyronie University Hospital. His primary focus in clinical research is intensive insulin therapy aimed at achieving physiological insulin delivery. He has dedicated a significant portion of his work to the development of insulin pump therapy and tools for continuous blood glucose monitoring. Between the years 2000 and 2007, he conducted research on the first model of fully implantable artificial endocrine pancreas in diabetic individuals. His recent research involves active participation in European FP7 Projects such as ‘DIAdvisor’, ‘Bringing Artificial Pancreas Home’, BIOSID, and the JDRF-sponsored Artificial Pancreas Project. Eric Renard is the author of more than 120 papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
