Regina Barzilay is the Delta Electronics Professor at MIT, leading research in natural language processing and deep learning applications in chemistry and oncology. She is a principal investigator at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and faculty lead for the MIT Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health. Her work focuses on cross-domain transfer of annotations, learning from limited data, and incorporating human-provided rationales into deep learning models. Barzilay has earned recognition through awards like NSF Career Award, MIT Technology Review's TR-35 Award, and fellowships from MacArthur Foundation and AI organizations. She holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Columbia University and conducted a postdoc at Cornell University.
