GM-FANUC Robotics Corporation was a joint venture between General Motors Corporation and FANUC to produce and market robots in the United States. The company was 50% owned by each partner and was based in Detroit, with GM providing most of the management and FANUC the products. Fanuc Ltd has completed its purchase of General Motors Corp’s 50% stake in the GMFanuc Robotics Corp joint venture, and will rename it Fanuc Robotics Corp on October 12. The company will be headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan and run two units, Fanuc Robotics North America Inc and Fanuc Robotics Europe GmbH.
