NIHR Obesity Policy Research Unit: against COVID-19 Hub

The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Obesity Policy Research Unit world-class expertise in working with children and young people, food policy, economic modelling and research on environment and behaviour change. Their goal is to undertake research of the highest quality to support the Department of Health and Social Care (England) and its partners to combat the environments and systems that drive obesity; modify behaviours that encourage obesity; reduce health inequalities and the consequences of obesity across the life-span.

Summary: What are the implications of COVID-19 for public health and obesity prevention policy? This work is an insight from people's lived experience of food and food environments. The project was funded through the NIHR 'Policy Research Programme's rapid COVID-19' funding process and is supported from existing funding to Policy Research Units where projects have been adapted to address COVID-19.
