COG-UK Hospital Onset Covid-19 Infection (HOCI) Study. COG-UK HOCI is a phase III prospective, interventional, cohort, superiority study to evaluate the benefit of rapid COVID-19 genomic sequencing on infection control in preventing the spread of the virus in United Kingdom NHS hospitals.

The study has two aims:

To measure whether rapid (<48 hours) COVID-19 sequencing better defines Hospital Onset COVID-19 Infection (HOCI) and
To measure whether rapid COVID-19 sequencing can be used to reduce COVID 19 outbreaks.
