Our Story and Team Our Story In April 2010, Deepwater Horizon exploded in the Gulf of Mexico. At that time, Michael Hartley, Minetell Founder and CEO, was working on an offshore oil platform in the North Caspian Sea. When the Offshore Installation Manager asked him if a similar incident could happen to them, he could not definitively say no.
