Misha Freedman ^People

Misha Friedman was born in Moldova, and graduated with degrees from Binghamton University (1997) and London School of Economics (2000), where he studied economics and Russian politics. He worked in finance in New York, and after 9/11 switched careers to volunteer as a project manager at Medecins SansFrontierswhile teaching himself photography. Since 2009, photography hasbecome his profession. He was associated with Cosmos Photo Agency 2011 - 2018, and si now represented by Getty Images. Misha regularly collaborates with leading internatio- nal media and non-profit organizations. APulitzer Prize finalist, his widely-exhibited work has received numerous industry awards, including several Pictures of the Year (POYi). He hasfive monographs, his most recent book Two Women inTheir Time was published by The New Press in 2020. Misha lives in New York City.His work appears in leading international publications and has been recognized by a number of awards and grants. He is the author of three books, including Never Remember (Columbia Global Reports, 2018) and Lyudmila and Natasha: Russian Lives (The New Press, 2015). His work is regularly featured in The New Yorker, Time, Der Spiegel, Le Monde and The New York Times. Never Remember is Friedman'sthird book. Previous work in Ukraine and Russia has covered corruption, private lives ofLGBTQ people, and the faith of reforms.
