Mark Grubarg People

Mark Davidovich Grubarg was born on January 11, 1947 in Moldova. Mark Davidovich's grandfather was a rabbi. In 1971, Mark Grubarg graduated from the Physics Department of Leningrad State University with a degree in theoretical phys- icist. After graduation, he taught physics at the Leningrad State University and at the Shipbuilding Institute. Mark Davidovich is a candidate of physical sciences and reli- gious studies, the author of scientific publications on Jewish law and social issues of Judaism. In 1991 he created and headed the first in S.t Petersburg Jewish secondary school number 224, at the Great Choral SynagogueSince 1996 - Chairman of the Jewish Religious Community of Sank Petersburg. Since 2000, Mark Grubarg has headed the Council of Chairmen of the lewish Communities of Russia. Since 2004 - Member of the Board of the EuropeanUnion of Jewish Communities. In November 2006, Mark Grubarg became a mem- ber of the Subcommittee ofthe Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for public control over the activities of law enforcement agencies, power structures and refor- ming the judicial and legal system. Member of the Public Council under the Central Internal Affairs Directorate for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (since 2008), as well as the Public Council under the Administration of the Admiralty District ofSankt Petersburg, a member of the Public Chamber of St. Petersburg.
