Efrem Bauh is written on the covers of most ofthe works, but Efraim Bauh is written on two works. The author's grandfather was the owner of a clothing store inTighina. During World War II, his family was evacuated to Saratov, Russia.His father, lawyer Isaak Bauh, died on the front near Stalingrad. In 1944,the family returned to Tighina. He graduated the Faculty of Geology of the State University of Moldova in Chisinäu, after which he was employed as a geological engi- neer at the Institute of Mineral Resources in Crimea (1958).In 1960, he returned to Chisinau to work as a journalist for the newspaper - Tineretul Moldovei (Youth of Moldova). After the newspaper had closed, he workedagain as a geologist at the research department of Moldgiprostroy.He has a rich and productive activity in writing works that will remain in the classical literature of the Republic of Moldova and Israel. He also has a beautiful ex-perience translating into Hebrew the works of Eugen Evtuenco, Bella Ahmadulina, Andrei Voznesenschi, Eugen Rein, Boris Pasternac, etc. He has translated many religious works. Since 1985 he has been the president of the Union of Russian- speaking Writers in Israel, and since 1994 he has been the leader of the Writers' Unions Federation of Israel. Since 2002, he has been the president of the Emigrant Communities Association of Moldova in Israel.
