Mihael Navon People

He was educated in a Catholic school and in December 1948 immigrated to Israel with his mother. He studied at the Example elementary school in Tel Aviv and at Shevach High School. In November 1958 he enlisted in the IDF and began in Pilot Course No. 32. During the course he moved on to the Navigators course and in 1961 graduated with honors in Course No. 3.He served in the 110th Squadron and the 103rd Squadron. In the years 1966 to 1974 he served inIntelligence Squad. He then served as head of the budget divi- sion in the Air Forces Budget and Audit Administration and in 1979 was appoin- ted head of the administration with the rank of colonel. From 1989 to 1997, he served as head of the budget department at the Ministry of Defense and as chief fi- nancial officer to the chief of staff. After his release, he served as CEO of Mashen during 1998. He served as Deputy Head of the Nativ Liaison Bureau in the Prime Minister's Office, financial advisor to the National Security Headquarters, and direc- tor of companies including Granit Hacarmel, Sonol, Supergas, and the International Mortgage Bank. He also served as chairman of the board of directors of the YuvalEducation Company of the Tel Aviv- Yafo Municipality, a member of the Maccabi Health Services Council and a director of the Public Hospitals Association. He is a member of the board of the Council for Peace and Security.
