Asan Medical Center. Cell Therapy Center R&D Centre

Cell therapy is a new treatment method involving the process of changing a cell's biological property by growing or selecting autologous, allogenic, and xenogenic cells outside the body. Currently AMC uses adult stem cells in cell therapy, rather than embryonic stem cells. Adult stem cells are cells separated from one's own tissues, and can be used to reproduce cartilage, bone, muscle, nerve, blood vessels, liver, pancreatic cells and blood cells to treat obstinate diseases.
