Magee-Womens Research Institute (MWRI) is the largest research institute in the U.S. dedicated to women’s health and reproductive biology. From woman-controlled HIV protection to therapies that could prevent the recurrence of ovarian cancer, MWRI is impacting lives every day. MWRI is originator of fundamental research that informs health care innovation all over the world. Women are different, right from the beginning. But until 1992, when MWRI was founded, there wasn’t even a research institute dedicated to women’s issues.
